MECHANICAL AME (Cat A&C)
AG AVIATION (Maintenance) is seeking a suitably qualified and highly proactive Mechanical AME to join our dynamic and growing team.
This is a full-time, on-site and travelling position based in Stellenbosch, Cape Town.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing maintenance and repairs on aircraft and aircraft systems
- Troubleshooting, resolving aircraft issues, and ensuring airworthiness standards are met.
- Assisting with parts Management and CAMO services
- Mentoring and training junior employees
- Management reporting
- Performing ad hoc duties as requested by Senior Management
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients and customers in the agricultural aviation community and the broader industry.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Aircraft Maintenance skills – experience in maintaining and repairing different types of aircraft
- Aircraft Systems knowledge – familiarity with complex systems such as electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshooting skills – ability to identify and resolve aircraft issues in a timely manner
- Airworthiness knowledge – ability to maintain aircraft in accordance with regulatory standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Completion of an accredited Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Program (advantageous)
- Air Tractor 802 Cat A SACAA (advantageous)
- Pratt & Whitney PT6A Large and Small Cat C rating (advantageous)
- Instructor rating (advantageous)
- Previous experience working in Africa (advantageous)
- Willingness to travel outside of South Africa (essential)
